Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Birch Hill.

Over the weekend between 17.30hrs Friday 27 November and 15.45hrs Sunday 29 November an unknown offender or offenders broke into a house in Evedon.  Entry was gained by smashing the glass in a rear patio door. The offender left muddy footprints within the house whilst making an untidy search. At this time police are waiting to be informed what has been stolen.

Investigating officer PC5126 Philip Davies  said “ We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information or domestic CCTV of suspects to call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101, quoting reference 4320040536.

If you don’t want to speak directly to police you can contact “Crimestoppers” anonymously and free of charge on 0800 555 111. It is an independent charity, no personal details will be asked for, calls are not recorded or traced and you would not have to go to court.

To reduce the risk of criminals targeting your home at this time of year make sure your home always looks occupied, use simple timer sockets to turn lamps on and off when you are out in the evenings. Close and secure gates that lead to rear or enclosed gardens.
