Appeal for witnesses following robbery - Oaklands Road Recreation Ground

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Botley.

At 5pm on Thursday (20/8), the victim, a 13 year-old girl, was approached by a group of teenagers at the Oaklands Road Recreation Ground.

The group tried to take her bike and one of the group, a boy, punched her in the face multiple times.

The victim sustained a black eye and a bloody nose but did not require hospital treatment.

The victim’s bike, a yellow and black Boardman road sport bike with yellow tires, was taken.

The first offender was described as a white girl, around 5ft 6ins tall, and around 15 years-old. She had a slim build, long straight black hair in a ponytail and was wearing a black crop top and black shorts.

The second offender was described as a white boy, around 6ft tall, and around 16 years-old. He had a large build and short sandy-coloured hair that was pushed back from his face. He was wearing a t-shirt and grey shorts and was carrying a black bag.

The third offender was also described as a white boy, around 6ft tall, and around 16 years-old. He had a large build and black hair that was long at the top and shorter on the sides. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts.

The fourth offender was described as a white boy, around 5ft 8ins tall, and around 15 years-old. He had a slim build and spiky blonde hair and was wearing a t-shirt and black football shorts.

Investigating officer PC Benjamin Shillam, based at Wantage police station, said: “I am appealing to anyone who has any information about this incident to get in touch.
