Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

We are aware that ethnic minorities are now in a disproportionate number of tragic deaths from Covid-19. Neighbourhood Watch has always been aware of the elderly and vulnerable but I hope in  this time that more BAME (Black, Asian and Ethnic Minorities) will be encouraged to join Neighbourhood Watch as there are also disproportionate numbers. Residents can join up on ourwatch.org.uk as valued individual members or members of a scheme - please click on scheme. If any member wants to be a Coordinator they can contact me on my email and I can support them in this restricted time.

I have received this from AllinTogether  and wonder if you have any information. This relates to Oxfordshire as well

"We are keen to make sure that the map, information and support resources that we develop are useful and relevant to all of Oxfordshire's diverse communities. We know that some groups face barriers to coming forward for support. We want these groups or communities to tell us about their activities, needs and ideas to help the development of the resources. This is to ensure that the resources are of optimum use to the people they serve.

We are reaching out to you as we believe you operate in areas we are hoping to target as part of this. We are keen to hear from community support groups and organisations including those supporting BAME groups, those living in/at risk of poverty, and those at risk of loneliness. If you know of any such groups, we would really appreciate you directing us towards them so that we can reach out."
