Safety advice for parents

Alert message sent 15/04/2019 11:46:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

Now that we are in the school holidays and your children may be involved in extracurricular activities please take the time to consider where your children are going and who they may be coming into contact with.
It is important to ensure that any club, youth group, or organisation is registered with an official body that can regulate them. Please consider that appropriate checks such as DBS (replaced the old CRB checks) and recruitment procedures are in place for those who are involved in the running of such clubs.
We recommend asking what safeguarding policies and training those involved in the clubs have. Please don’t assume that every club which involves children is strictly regulated.
If you have concerns about the safety of a child or the running of an organisation involving children then please contact The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on 0345 0507666.
